Tuesday: Notes for Followers, Weekly Goodies

To Little Lion

Happy Tuesday! This week’s note is the very last one! I can’t believe that I’ve written eight letters and kept to a solid schedule (except for week five). I’m proud of myself. Thank you to those I’ve written to and to those who’ve read my letters. ❤ I’ll be doing something like this again once we reach 200 followers, so keep an eye out. 🙂

This note is to Little Lion, who works with their friend Little Snake to post creative writing every day on Scarlet Tea & Silver Ink.

Lion Header

Two pages from a Moleskine journal, letter is in black pen. Doodles include one vertical half of a lion’s face, a vine of leaves down one side of the page, and Harry Potter symbols: a lightning bolt, a crown, a light bulb, the deathly hallows symbol, and a wand shooting sparks. The letter reads:

Little Lion,

Happy Tuesday, my friend! And Happy November. Wherever you are in the world, I hope you’re well. I’m having a difficult time with the lack of sun (fewer hours of daylight and overcast skies). How do you feel about winter? Everyone I know dislikes and/or dreads it. I’m trying to find positives and plan things to look forward to. At the moment, though, I’m just working and watching New Girl… everything else takes too much energy.

Anyway! This note has taken a humdrum turn — but I’m actually feeling good right now! (I tried the salted caramel mocha frappuccino at Starbucks this morning, and it was fab!) I wanted to say, Lion, that it’s very cool and motivating to see you and Snake writing every day. I hope you keep it up. It’s like a muscle, so it’s hard to get back into it once you’ve stopped stretching. You guys inspire me to keep writing.

Are either of you doing NaNoWriMo? I’ve tried (but never finished). It’s good for kicking you into writing gear. I think the pressure gets to me, though… Speaking of, I’m off to work on blog posts! Take care. ❤

Kaiya xx

  1. Well hi there! I was stunned by the Lion sketch and script so I kinda stared at those for a bit before actually reading what you had to say! I /love/ cold weather – everyone thinks I’m crazy right now, as it’s cold where I am. Blankets and tea, my friend, are what I love about wintertime, in addition to cold breezes that make it feel like you’re flying! The sunlight is also a bit of a struggle for me – Daylight Savings Time means it gets darker sooner, and I hate losing the light so early. 😦
I also know what you mean by stretching that muscle – I posed late this week, and I skipped last week’s post because I had no inspiration, nothing written, and no time to write it in 🙂
Keep going, Kaiya! I love hearing from you via your posts 🙂 I haven’t done NaNoWriteMo, but I do write whenever I can so I kind of count that as my own mini year long contest for myself, as I jump between stories 🙂
Thank you for writing to me, and I hope all is well where you are in the world! Enjoy that Starbucks! I’m a tea drinker, but someone told me to try a Frappe…as to that, we’ll see 🙂

    1. Hello, friend! I’m glad you liked your sketch and letter and that you’re doing well. I love hot drinks and blankets, but I can have both with AC. 😉 I definitely hate how dark it is all the time. No matter the temperature, I need sun! Inspiration and time will find you again soon, I’m sure. Maybe they’ll come in on those winds you like. ❤

      xx Kaiya

P.S. Fraps are good! A lot of them don't actually have any coffee in them. 🙂
