Reading Challenge: TBR Bingo

TBR Bingo (To-Be-Read Bingo) is a concept I discovered through @MissDahlELama (via @twobossydames). The concept is a simple one: Create a bingo sheet of books that you already own. Read those books. As you go, you are allowed to buy a new book each time you get bingo! As someone who owns far too many unread books, this is obviously a great idea.

To make the concept a bit more challenging but fit with my goals, I am giving myself a six-week deadline of September 30th to finish the entire card, and my card will only be 3×3. Also, I’m not going to purchase any more books until I’ve finished the entire card — unless one of my Wishlist Books is on crazy sale because, really, missing a sale opportunity is kind of silly.

All of that said, here is my bingo card:

TBR Bingo

1. Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
2. The Queen’s Poisoner by Jeff Wheeler
3. P.S. From Paris by Marc Levy
4. The Special Power of Restoring Lost Things by Courtney Elizabeth Mauk
5. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
6. 180 Seconds by Jessica Park
7. Never Again So Close by Claudia Serrano
8. Private Lives by Tasmina Perry
9. Royal Exile by Fiona McIntosh

If you’re interested in following my progress, my Goodreads account can be found here. If you’d also like to do the challenge, let me know! Just post your grid and link back to me so that I can follow your progress, too. 🙂 I’d love to see what books y’all are reading!

  1. Kaiya, as someone who has way more books than is normal, and as someone who’s pile of books to read just keeps getting higher, I think this is such a great idea. I’m considering giving this a try, not right now, but hopefully in a couple of months. I really need to start making a dent in my reading list. It’s ridiculous already! 🙂 Good luck with your goal; it was a great idea to set a deadline for yourself.

    1. Go for it, Lyz-Stephanie! You can do it! 🙂 I’m thinking I may need to adjust it a bit. I’ve started my second book, read a few chapters, and can’t get into it right now. I may replace it with something else or just skip it for now and come back. Also, 9 books in 6 weeks may have been a little unrealistic… But I’m still going for it! Haha. Thank you for reading. 🙂 ❤ x Let me know if you try this challenge in the future!

    2. Maybe you can create a wild card or an alternate for when you really aren’t feeling a book. If you aren’t in the mood you can put it back into the rotation until a later time, but if you hate it, you’re allowed to get rid of it. Life’s too short to read bad books.

    1. WP and I are going to have words!!! They can’t keep us apart! ☹️ Let me know what you think of This Side of Paradise! I’ve only read Fitzgerald’s GREAT GATSBY, and I wasn’t a fan, but I’d be willing to give TSOP a try. Also, what’s the title of this nickel nasty, because I am heeere for it!
